hackday: Connected TV app hackday

TVs are nowadays in every household and always more connected. More and more TV makers are setting up app stores and opening SDKs. Some of our clients want to be present on multiple platforms - smartphones, tablets among others - and now also TVs. It looks like there might be a next app revolution ahead of us. In this hackday, we propose you to try to develop an app for a TV app store. For now, we suggest to give it a try with a Samsung TV as they seem to have a well documented SDK, but we are open to other suggestions that you might bring up.

Goals :

  • Test a TV app SDK (in case of Samsung : the SmartTV SDK 3.0)

  • Develop a simple app including :

    • a listing of videos
    • video playback

    (an idea could be to use some media feeds from TSR, but this has to be confirmed : needs to be agreed by TSR)
